I thought I’d share with everyone what a normal day on the boat is like just so you can get a feel for it.
I usually wake up around 6:00, because that is when we pull up our anchor. It’s pretty hard to sleep when you have an anchor chain coming up over your bed. I get up, and depending on how I’m feeling, I usually put on my clothes and go help with getting the anchor up. Once we have done that, my parents come inside to drive and I usually grab a book and hang out. A normal breakfast is granola and yogurt, or egg sandwiches. By this time, it’s about 10:00.
At ten o’clock I begin school. School takes place up in the pilothouse because that is where we drive from and I don’t want to miss any of the action. Math is always my first subject, then I do history (or geography), spelling, reading, and composition (or grammar). All of this takes about three hours.
When I am done with school, the boat is still underway, so I go take a shower. The engine makes the shower water REALLY hot. I then play the Wii, blog, watch a show, dance, draw or play with my kitty. When all of this is done, we pull into a marina or an anchorage. I help get the anchor down or the lines tied. We’ll go explore the town for a while. I am a late eater and so are my parents, so dinner takes place around 8:00. When dinner is done we wash the dishes, or if we went out, come back to the boat and enjoy desert while reading or watching a movie. I get to bed around 10:00
