It’s Christmas Eve morning here aboard Three @ Sea, and we are all filled with that sense of Christmas anticipation. It’s currently raining, and my friend the wind is blowing steadily at about 20 knots, with an occasional gust up to 30 knots. However, our spirits are not dampened in any way.
It has been fun to create Christmas on our boat, keeping some traditions while making room for new ones. We have baked all our favorite Christmas cookies; decorate our tree with Carribean colored balls and shells; hung the stockings on the deep freezer; watched all our favorite holiday movies; Ayla’s advent calendar has a pirate theme; and, we even have mistletoe over the door. Ayla
wonders if Santa will find her out here. I have every confidence he will.
For those of you, who have been following our journey and blogs, thank you for all of your words of encouragement and support, it means the world to us. We wish you and your family a very Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, Spiritual Solstice and a whole holiday season filled with the love
and joy of family and friends.
Merry Christmas to you all and fair winds! You are living my dream. I’ll show wife and 14 yo daughter your site so they can follow along. If you head to the Abacos, check out the Abacos Barbs, the most endangered horses in the world.
Kathryn, Dave and Ayla,
I have thoroughly enjoyed following your journey since seeing you off in Annapolis. We miss Dave at the office, but are glad you are all having such fun.
Merry Christmas and may the New Year bring you much joy!

Happy Holidays Besemer family!!! I have spent a few hours this Christmas morning catching up and enjoying your blogs. You are all truly great ambassadors of peace, hope, education and environmental consciousness in (to & for) this world of ours. Thanks for taking us all along on your journey!!!
Whitney is here for the holidays from Chicago, Glynn still lives at home while going to the local community college and Meghan is currently in China (for the 2nd time this year) – Grandma Marilyn, Jon & Robin will be coming to Cedar Rapids on Saturday and then on Sunday we will all be going to Jesse & Katrina’s house to celebrate with their family and my sister Cindy & her boyfriend John. Some relaxing family time is going on! When Meg gets back from China I will make sure she has your links. Since she is on a mission trip our communication with her during this time is limited. As I read your blog David, I can see her engineering mind would enjoy the anchor and GPS information! She is adding an environmental emphasis to her degree in civil and so far her focus has been on water issues (conservation, drinking). She spent the summer in Africa building water catchment systems. (Engineers for a sustainable world). By the looks of it, I think she will make this her life’s work. Anyway, enough about us. I wanted to wish you all a merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
Love Susie & family
Merry Christmas, Besemers! And a very Happy New Year. It looks and sounds like you’ve created wonderful new holiday traditions – and are having great explorations. I’m jealous! We think of you often and miss seeing you regularly at the aquarium. It’s great to be able to follow along on your adventure. Can’t wait to see what you come up with to celebrate the New Year.
Hugs and best wishes,
Mimi
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Looks like you guys are having a great holiday season on the boat! Can’t wait to hear how you spent New Year’s Eve!
HI gang,
Finally taking time to catch up on your blogs now that we are safely ensconced
in Alabama. Weather here is nice 74degrees today!
Miss you all more than when you were in boulder! Weird………….
