Today we arrived in the mooring field at Cambridge Cay (still part of the Exumas Land and Sea Park). While I was enjoying a peaceful sunset from our bow, Dave was taking a quick swim off the stern when the following visitor arrived…a young bull shark.
When we visited the Shark Lab on South Bimini Island, Kristen said we’d be lucky to see a shark while swimming. We must be the luckiest people on earth, as we have seen sharks in at least seven different anchorages in the last month.
Come to find out, it’s not that unusual to see sharks in anchorages because of the food scraps or fish cleaning remnants that boaters throw overboard. Important information to note. 🙂
Wow what a great picture, a shark right there off the side of your boat. I am so scared of sharks. I have the urge to get over my fear and learn how to scuba dive so when we take our trip to the bahama’s I can at least snorkel.
