A party, some stars, friends, and family. These are the perfect ingredients for a New Year. We hopped off the dingy on a beach and greeted our new friends, Lisa and Dennis to get ready for our small New Years beach party. It was like an appetizer potluck! Everyone had so much fun talking, and watching the amazing sunset (including the legendary green flash, commonly seen where we were).
Once the party was over, we went back to the boat and made a delicious New Years dinner. Then, it was time for our big plan. The night was perfect. It wasn’t to cold, no clouds, and one thousand stars. Perfect to sleep outside on the boat deck. we hauled up our sleeping bags, blew up our Therma-rests , and brought up the chocolate bar. Under the stars, we ate chocolate, talked about the new year and the old one, and then, at midnight, we counted down to ring in the new year. Sleeping under the stars really is magical. We saw a total of 2 satellites and 6 shooting stars! Actually, it was magical until the rain and wind came around 2:00 a.m. Oh well, we finished our New Year Slumber in our own beds. Happy New Year!
