Last sunset in Bahamas

Last sunset in Bahamas

I leave the Bahamas with a jumble of feelings, and a heart full of memories.

Sad to go because…
…I will miss the beauty of the water in all her shades of blue; hiking on the honeycomb islands; and, the wide open space which hosts spectacular sunrises and sunsets.

More confident because…

Our wind tattered Bahamian Courtesy flag.

…I now feel comfortable cruising in these beautiful waters. I better understand the weather patterns, currents, and how to find the right protected anchorage in a front. When we first arrived three months ago it all seemed so overwhelming, now it is a natural part of daily life.

Excited to move on because…
… I’m ready for new experiences. I’m anxious to see other places; look forward to meeting new people; all the while learning more about the boat, the water and our family.

Hesitant to come back to the U.S. because…
…I’ve loved the family time without distraction. I worry about all of us being so “connected” again with cell phones, texting, and ease of finding internet.

Thankful because…
…of all the incredible moments we’ve gathered, from sleeping under the stars on New Years Eve to meeting Stephan on Norman’s Cay; from snorkeling the Sea Aquarium with Lisa and Dennis to celebrating Three@Sea’s first crossing of the Tropic of Cancer with new friends; from Ayla’s “tribe” of friends at Georgetown to

standing on Boo Boo Hill at Waderick Wells enjoying the sounds and waves; and the list goes on…

Blessed because…
…we are living our dream.
